Diane Robertson is a broadcast television and multimedia professional who has been in the industry for 18 years.
She previously led the Broadcast Services department, including website and social media component, of a Washington, DC PBS station for 6 years, between 2006 and 2012. While there she was also responsible for all on-air content selection, acquisition, and placement, including on-air fundraising content; thus contributing to the overall financial development of the station. This included vetting local programs and working with producers to bring their approved projects to fruition. Diane was also responsible for initiating, and leading the implementation of the station’s first social media platforms and effectively used it interact with the station’s audience, and the local community.
Additionally, Diane managed the Programming, Traffic and On-Air Promotions to ensure the efficient and effective carriage of all public television programming on the channel. Throughout her entire career, Diane has been involved with Television Studio Production, Promotional Scriptwriting, On-Air Promotions, Community Engagement and On-Air Voice Talent.
On the national level, Diane’s contributions – while serving on review panels – have led to the release of particular programs for some popular public television series, including Independent Lens and Afropop. Additionally, she has worked with the Pacific Islanders in Communications group to weigh in on their projects as a Documentary Reader and served as an advisor to the Caribbean Filmmakers Symposium. More recently, Diane is serving as a judge for the Skyline Indie Film Festival, in Virginia.
In 2012 Diane branched out to use her talents to provide Creative Writing, Social Media Management, Media and Public Relations, Marketing as well as an assortment of written content to assist with promoting businesses.
In 2014 Diane joined the Travestee Films team to assist with the coordination of the production of the premier short-film City of Lost Souls. As a valuable asset at Travestee Films, Diane serves as an amicable liaison for a diverse clientele and the film company. She also contributes creatively toward the creation and development of new projects.
Additionally, Diane is currently involved with writing, and editing book projects in order to advance the work of authors, and publishers seeking to disburse engaging written content, in the area of Fiction, and Self-Help literature.
